Indigo Hours, The Funny Moon are IBPA 2024 Silver Winners!

Congratulations to authors Chris Lincoln and Nancy Stone, whose books have been named Silver Winners in the 36th annual IBPA Ben Franklin Award! Administered by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), the Benjamin Franklin Awards are regarded as one of the highest national honors for independent publishers.

The Funny Moon by Chris Lincoln won in the Humor (Fiction) category. An entertaining romp, this story follows a couple navigating self-discovery and marriage at mid-life.

Indigo Hours by Nancy Stone was awarded the Silver in the Poetry category. A lyrical, profound, and playful book of haiku poems with original scratchboard drawings, the author and artist meditates on her role as care partner after her husband’s diagnosis.

“We are so excited to have these two titles honored in this competitive indie award,” says Samantha Kolber, Rootstock Publisher.

Launched in 1985, the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award program is designed to celebrate excellence in independent publishing and to foster that excellence by sharing a written critique from each judge with the submitting publisher. Each of the nearly 1,800 entrants will receive a written critique from three individual judges—thanks to the more than 170 volunteer book publishing professionals, including librarians, bookstore owners, reviewers, designers, publicity managers, and editors.
