Four Rootstock Books are 2024 IPNE Finalists!

We are so pleased to announce that four Rootstock works have been shortlisted for the 2024 IPNE award! Congratulations to our authors!

  • Stonechat, by Mary Elder Jacobsen, in the poetry category. Best-selling author James Crews is a fan of Jacobsen’s “incisive and precise poems.”

  • Notes from the Porch, by Thomas Christopher Greene, in the narrative/creative nonfiction category. Publishers Weekly calls this best-selling collection of short stories ideal “for reading by the fire on a cold night.”

  • A Reason to Run, by Mike Magluilo, in the young adult fiction category. The debut novel is a vivid take on recovery from tragedy, the intensity of competitive running, and a teen’s revelation that somewhere in the messiness of life is the stuff that matters.

  • It Was Her New York, by C.O. Moed, in the narrative/creative nonfiction category. This award-winning collection of true stories offers “beautiful, moving memories of a mother, in words and snapshots,” says Booklife.

Each year, the Independent Publishers of New England hosts its book awards program with the aim of recognizing excellence in independent publishing.

Zoom in Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 4 pm eastern, to the online awards ceremony that honors winners and finalists and announces the winner in each category. Here is the Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88290540720.
