'It Was Her New York' Earns Literary Titan Gold Book Award!

Congratulations to C.O. Moed, whose memoir, It Was Her New York: True Stories and Snapshots, has been awarded the 2024 Literary Titan Gold Book Award!

In her funny, poignant memoir, Moed tells true stories of caring for her mother Florence, a broke, Julliard-trained pianist who stumbles into dementia on the Lower East Side. This collection of personal essays and full-color photographs is for anyone who has ever experienced the aging of a parent, the gentrification of a neighborhood, or the unexpected discovery of stifled love and hidden sexuality.

“We are thrilled,” says Rootstock Publisher Samantha Kolber. “This funny and moving memoir deserves the honor!”

The Literary Titan is an organization of professional editors, writers, and professors that reviews fiction and non-fiction books in many different genres, conducts author interviews, and recognizes talented authors with their Literary Book Award.
